This is the Hanabishi pattern, often depicted on samurai crests and kimonos. It symbolizes the flowers of the water chestnut tree.
HISTORY & TRADITION
During the Heian period (794 -1185 b.c.) it was used as traditional design motifs, to provide
goods and costumes for court nobles.
